So my husband and I are in Greenville, SC for a few days for a recruiting training conference. My wonderful sister and mother in-law are taking turns keeping my son. Well I had never been here before so I didn't know what to expect. My husband and I met at Atlanta Bread Company for lunch and I knew there were a few shops downtown so I figured I would do a little shopping while he finished his last few meetings. I had NO IDEA what I was going to stumble across! WOW! This city is SO cute and peaceful. The streets are lined with beautiful trees and wide sidewalks that had places to sit every few feet to sit and relax. Not to mention free Wi-Fi all downtown! I wish I would have known this before I payed $10 for 1 day of internet at the hotel. I would have much rather walked a few blocks and sat there enjoying the town on my laptop then be in my hotel room on the computer. There are also tons of little coffee shops and local boutiques. I found the coolest Vintage clothing shop that had the neatest t-shirts and jewlrey. I just walking and walking. I kept seeing signs for Falls Park so I wanted to see what it was. When I got there I couldn't believe what I saw. There was a waterfall, right in the middle of the city with a bridge that went right infront of it with a perfet view. There were park benches and swings surronding the park. I just wanted to sitdown with a good book and stay all day. Well I wish I would have known all of this before I left my room b/c I didn't bring my SLR camera, but luckly I always have my point & shoot camera in my purse so I took a few pics!
Great pictures! Now I want to go to Greenville! If it is possible you guys should really stop by downtown Asheville, NC, on your way back. If you haven't been before I think you will really enjoy it. If you have a bunch of time then I suggest heading to Hendersonville, NC, too! There are some great places to walk towards Lake Lure and Bat Cave and there are those rocks you can climb on... I can't remember what they are called but they are quasi-famous... and expensive? I am glad you all are having such a great time!
Hey picture lady! So check it out I was recently invited to contribute to the national American Red Cross blog, which I am super excited about. Today I was told that there is a town in NC called - Red Cross. So I contacted the Mayor, Ray Quick, and he has agreed to sit down for an interview and show me around town. So I am excited about that and then I started wondering - wouldn't this be a great opportunity for YOU to take some pics w/ your DSLR and then have them seen on a national website? Here is the catch, Red Cross is an hour East and you would have to ride in the car with a creepy, hairy guy (me)... so I totally understand if you don't want to do it. I am looking at going next Thursday but waiting to hear back from Mayor Quick on whether or not that will be a good day for him. If you are interested just drop me a line on my blog or use the contact page or whatever works for you. If your not excited don't worry, it's cool!
